DESCRIPTION	Dark red alcaline aqueous solution obtained from aqueous extract of cochineal (Dactylopius Coccus Costa) after eliminating proteins, resins, fats and waxes. This extract, under certain conditions, gives a complex aluminum – calcium salt known under the name Natural Carmine.

SOLUBILITY	Carmine is completely soluble in water, alcohol and propylenglygol
STABILITY	Highly resistant to light oxidation, change in pH and microbiological attacks. Very stable toward heat up to 130 centigrades degrees, but unstable above that temperature.

Its purity characteristic allows formulator to know exactly what it is added. APPLICATION	Food (soups, milk, yoghurt, meat products, spices), pharmaceutical industry. The FDA list the carmine as colourant permitted in foods, cosmetics and drugs without limitation and exempt from certification.
