DESCRIPTION

Red brilliant powder obtained from aqueous extract of cochineal (Dactylopius Coccus Costa), after eliminating proteins, resins, fats ans waxes. This extract, under certain conditions, gives a complex aluminium – calcium salt known under the name Natural Carmine.

Carminex™ 90% Protein Free is in full compliance with the directives of the European Union Colour n° E 120, the National Formulary and 21 CFR 73.100 for Cochineal derivatives.

SOLUBILITY

Carminex™ 96% Protein Free is not

soluble in neutral water but completely soluble in alkaline water.                         

STABILITY   

Highly resistant to light oxidation, change in pH, microbiological attacks. Very stable toward heat up to 130 centigrade degrees, but unstable above that temperature.

Its purity characteristic allows formulator to know exactly what it is added. Food (soups, meat products, spices), pharmaceutical industries. The FDA lists the carmine among colours permitted in foods, without limitation and exempt from certification.
